After working in the medical field for 21 years as a registered Histologist, I decided to follow my passion for "country" decorating & take a shot at starting my own business in downtown Waukesha, WI. Decorating, crafting & antiques were my passion. I felt it was time for me to move on to something that I loved. I called it my pre-40's initiative! Thirty eight years later, I still love what I do!
In 1984, I started my business in a 250 sq ft shop on Grand Ave. I was a single mother of two young boys with $1500 to my name that I had saved from doing craft fairs for a little spare cash. Most importantly, I had an inherent belief and desire to build "Just A Little Bit Country" in Waukesha offering authentic early American antiques, fine reproduction furniture and accessories to complete your country home.
It's hard to believe it's 34 years later & I'm still passionate about what I do.
I specialize in 18th & 19th century New England furniture, antiques & accessories which include "period" lighting, classic colonial upholstered furniture & fine reproductions.
The photos are of my saltbox home used to demonstrate authentic country & colonial style decorating.
We are located on the 1850's Homestead purchased and renovated in 1995 for my shop as well as our Cafe & two other businesses.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
